The problem
The Data Retention Directive is an EU directive trying to abolish anonymous communication by forcing internet service providers to keep records of what IP address their customers were using at any time. They are also forced to keep records of all email; who sent mail to who and when the mail was sent. These records must be made easily available to authorities.
The solution
Internet connection
Mullvad restores anonymity. The IP address from the internet service provider is only used to connect to Mullvad and is not visible on the internet.
Do not use the email service of your internet service provider.
